disconnect personal training provides guidance, structure, and support to help people expand their physical capabilities through a variety of exercises and physical activities so they can move and feel better in their daily lives.
The disconnect philosophy:
- Better mobility and health should be accessible to everyone.
- Health is morally neutral. This means that:
- Ability is morally neutral.
- Weight is morally neutral.
- Food is morally neutral.
- The perfect body does not exist.
- “Fitness” isn’t any one aesthetic, body shape, ability level, or end goal.
Since every body is different, every body has its own version of fitness and health.
The goal of disconnect is to help you work toward the best version of your body in sustainable, safe, ability- and trauma-informed ways, whatever that means for you.
About the Trainer
Merric is an ISSA certified personal trainer and nutritionist, with additional specializations in corrective exercise, exercise recovery, transformation, and strength and conditioning.
In addition to his formal training, he also has an extensive personal history with both team and individual sports, injury and recovery, and living with EDS (as well as a myriad of other chronic conditions).
In his free time, Merric enjoys bothering his dog and cat, reading, and, unfortunately, staring at screens while sitting in positions entirely incompatible with reducing joint pain.
